Joseph Cassese, YSU Athletic Fundraising Director, is very familiar with everything involving Youngstown State University. He has worked in Fundraising for YSU for the last 6 years.

Presently, YSU is working on an indoor facility for football and track. This is another step up for YSU and will give a competitive edge to YSU for the attraction of athletic students to the school. National indoor meets can be held at such a facility.

The meeting was called to order by President Brian Laraway. He led us in the invocation and pledge.

Brian welcomed back Gary Reel back from his trip to Australia.

Visiting Rotarians and guests included Cheryl Oblinger from Warren, and guestspeaker, Joseph Cassese from YSU Athletics.

Robin led us in singing "Smile" which we used to do fairly well, but not this time.

Gary Reel did his "joke of the day" - and presented the club with a banner from Bellingen Shire, Australia, a club he visited.

PROGRAM:
Joseph Cassese, YSU Athletic Fundraising Director
Joe Cassese is very familiar with everything involving Youngstown State University. He has worked in Fundraising for YSU for the last 6 years. Before that he graduated from YSU and has been in the Athletic field ever since.

Privileged to having worked with Jim Tressel and then with the NFL in St.Louis, Joe considers it good experience for the job he is doing now which includes "a little of everything."

Presently, YSU is working on an indoor facility for football and track. This is another step up for YSU and will give a competitive edge to YSU for the attraction of athletic students to the school. National indoor meets can be held at such a facility. In past years, YSU has had to rent Kent's track facility for training. This was very expensive and more of a danger with accidents, etc.

The growth of YSU has been amazing. The new rec center is great, and on the books is a plan for a 36 million dollar School of Business.

September 5th at Pittsburgh is the Season Opener for YSU.
