Mike Cafaro introduced Adam Takash from Mahoning Valley Thunder, the arena football team appearing in the innaugural season at the Chevrolet Centre this season.
"Mahoning Valley Thunder is the only professional sports team in the valley that combines major-league strength, speed and athleticism with a high-scoring, fam-friendly immense entertaining experience." Most of the players are looking for an opportunity to get into the NFL or AFL someday.
Three local guys own the team. Most players range in age from 24 up to the old guys at 29 or 30. Forty percent move up to AFL and 10% up to the NFL. Earnings are only about $200.00 per week with a $50.00 bonus if they win. Everything is paid for: food, housing, so expenses are not high.
There are eight home and 8 road games. The season is from March 31 thru July 31. It's a great environment for the family. For tickets call 330-758-4232 or visit them on the internat at MahoningValley Thunder.com.

PRESIDENT GARY opened the meeting and then told some bad jokes....again.
VISITORS included Millie Baldwin for her second visit (I mistakenly said she was visiting from the Poland Club in last week's bulletin - sorry!) Also visiting was Larry Minnear who is moving to Tennessee. We'll miss you Larry. Keep those e-mails coming!!!!Eric Newton also graced us with his second visit, and Adam Takash, our GuestPresenter rounded out the list.
CHRIS SWEGAN picked an old favorite in leading us to "When The Saints Go Marching In". Usually we do this with great gusto...this time, well, I think we need a little more practice in singing in the same key.
PRESIDENT'S PARTY June 23rd at 6 P.M. List is being passed around. It will be downstairs at the Upstairs. Please come so we can all "roast" President Gary Reel.
