Our Program was an update on the Raffle and its purposes. Mike is working on some final decisions about the menu that have to be done this week. 17 tickets are still left to be sold. There will be no 50/50 raffle this year, just the Big Board and Mini Board with the Chinese auction.
President Michael Cafaro called the meeting to order on Feb. 16 as we celebrated Presidents' Day!
Gary Reel opened with prayer, salute to the flag, and singing of God Bless America.
Dave Buttar led us in singing "Sing Rotarians" to the tune of On Wisconsin, another of those songs that needs words revised. (I got the hint Gary!)
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
- Mike reminded group of Feb. 18 area meeting at Holiday Inn in Boardman with speaker from Secret Service. 10 are going from Austintown.
- Next meeting will be the 4 Way Speech Contest if all goes right. There has been a death among the Speech Team at Fitch which could affect the contest.
- March 23 will be Mentoring Day, and Gary read some of the areas students are requesting.
- Gary, Lisa, and Mike are handling seating for the Raffle, so get your special requests to them.
- Feb. 25 will be the Board Meeting at Lucianno's at 7:30 a.m. where final details for Raffle will be discussed.
- We were all glad to see Millie Baldwin back from a hectic work load, but heard that Phil Carlon has resigned his membership.
- Gary agreed to apply for the District Public Relations award, maybe Carol will do same with newsletter, both due April 17.
FELLOWSHIP: Brian Laraway was in charge of fellowship, fining those who were off work for Presidents' Day and those who had not sold a ticket for the Raffle.
