President Michael Cafaro brought all the Club Chairs to the front of the room and explained their positions and asked for our help in reaching the objectives of each Chair.

All of our chairs will need some help at one time or another. We ask that all members get involved. What part do you want to play in our family of Rotary?

PRESIDENT Michael  Cafaro opened the meeting and called on Hillary Prestridge to give the Invocation, Pledge and leading of God Bless America.

Guests:  Architect Tom Keller from the Canfield Club.

Susan Leetch led us in singing "Smile", an old staple of our Rotary Club. Our rendition can easily put one to sleep.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

CHANGE:  There has been a change in the Conti Rotary Walk for ALS. Due to such a  great response they are scheduling it for Saturday, November 1st from 10 -11 A.M. at Boardman Park.

Dictionaries are in, Toby will be passing them out starting today to anyone who would like to get their part of the project going. Call schools first and get an amount. Some schools weren't sure at the time we ordered. This is 3rd graders only.

This year Austintown Rotary will celebrate its 40th year. Melissa Crowley has volunteered to help plan a Reunion Meeting to celebrate. This will be the same date as our fireside chat. Old members, past presidents, etc are welcome.  Please see Melissa if you can help.

REVERSE RAFFLE: In October, committees will be forming the start up this important fundraiser for our club.

We need our members to step up to the plate on this one. Lots of help is needed in all areas especially with ticket sales.

We will be sponsoring the Junior Achievement Project with Bill Johnson heading it up again this year. Bill has done an outstanding job on this for at least ten years. It is such a success with the school and kids and we thank him for his efforts.

Woodside has been asked to write a "wish list" of things they need. The Ohio Reads Program has lost its funding and they want Rotary to continue this effort. There are 25 volunteers for this program. We all want to keep "Woodside Reads" program going until more grants are found.

Our other project will be to work on Celebration Grove. We will try to make this project easier on the park and us.  The same committee will meet with Joyce to see what the options are.

Sept. 30 and Oct. 2, all chiropractors in the State of Ohio will be working for a $20.00 donation as a state-wide fundraiser.

The Growth Foundation would like Rotary and all service clubs to sell tickets to the Taste of Austintown as a fundraiser. Tickets are $5.00 each and the club keeps half of all the tickets they sell.

Toby said to check out Issue 6 the Gambling Issue. He stated that there is a provision in the reading of the details that is interesting. He gave the website as: www.aproundtable.org and explains the taxes might disappear if another casino opened by Indians is built in Ohio.

FELLOWSHIP:  Robin fined anyone rooting for Cincinnati, then fined Mike for "jumping the gun" and anyone not going to Salvatore's for the get-together.
