Peg Flynn from the Green Team was the guest at Monday's Austintown Rotary meeting. She had a "show and tell" illustrating the many products, such as carpeting, that had been recycled from plastics collected. Peg encouraged all businesses to help reduce trash handling costs by recycling paper, cans and bottles. They will come to your business on a regular basis and collect the recyclable materials for free. In addition, recycling site locations in Austintown Township are at the Township Building at 82 Ohltown Road, Trustee Park, and at 1075 S. Raccoon Road. These are available 7 days per week during daylight hours.
PRESIDENT Karl opened todays meeting and called on Gary Reel to give the Invocation, Pledge and he also led us in singing, God BlessAmerica.
Guests were Dr. Bob Kerpsack, Tom Keller and Sam Boak from Canfield, and Dianna Mathis visited us for her third time.
Robin led us in singing My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean. We did very well.
JULY 4th: Michael Cafaro reported that although this is not our year to help organize the parade, he was asked if we could lend a hand to the Optimists as they do not have enough members. Be there around 11:30 if you would like to help. Canfield is doing the float this year to promote the free 4th of July fireworks they are sponsoring. Sam Boak is representing the Canfield club and is working with Austintown on the advertising of this event. They will put the float together next Tuesday and welcomes anyone from our club to come lend a hand. Greg Greenwood is donating a Hummer for which we will have a banner/sign to advertise our club.
