PROGRAM: President Brian presented the program by introducing Kelly Kiraly and Shanna Glenellen from the Junior League of Youngstown. They introduced Rotarians to their "Passport to Prizes" Fundraiser to support the Mahoning Valley and all the projects they have undertaken.

The Junior League of Youngstown is a volunteer organization for women interested in making a positive impact in their communities by building coalitions, identifying community needs and development of effective and responsive programs to serve those needs.

Each year, the Junior League of Youngstown raises money for key community projects through fundraising events.

The meeting was called to order by new President Brian Laraway.

INVOCATION: Invocation and pledge by Karl Rein.

VISITORS: Rotarian George Faeber all the way from Columbus, Herb Sause from Youngstown Club, Bruce Laraway (Brian's Dad), Kelly Kiraly and Shanna Glenellen from the Junior League of Youngstown.

SONG LEADER: Hillary Prestridge, our brave, brave song leader, led us in singing "Smile". We did rather well on that one.

This is where Brian told a joke.  (Brian - I know Gary Reel - and you're not Gary Reel.)

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

·         Brian thanked everyone for their help with the 4th of July Parade.  Excellent job club!!! We had a great representation.

·         Just a reminder that all Bike Night money goes toward Polio Plus.  Our next event is on Thursday, August 13. We need your help.

·         T-shirts are at the club.  Please remember to pick yours up.

·         5th Season is talking to us about doing an "Oktoberfest-type" event for Austintown.

·         Rotary ad for Austintown Football Program was passed around for comments.

·         PERFECT ATTENDANCE AWARDS were handed out for the fourth quarter of the Rotary year ending July 1, 2009. Recipients were Brian Frederick, Tony Cebriak, Karl Rein, Deanna Spirko, Robin Stock Hillary Prestridge, Brian Laraway, Susan Leetch, Melissa Crowley, Dr. Mitch Dalvin, Ron Carroll, Dr. Mike Cafaro, Chuck Baker, Dave Buttar, Beverly Flowers, Leanna Mathes, Brian Pretoka and Gary Reel (now chasing 'roos in Australia).

FELLOWSHIP: Rachael fined everyone that did not watch any part of the Michael Jackson funeral.

RAFFLE: Chuck baker won the little one - but lost on the biggie (now up to about 10 bucks).

You'll remember if you read last week's bulletin that Karl Rein walked away with a whopping $289.00, and thus put to an early death the noted "pink" deck of cards.
