There are no bleachers and the driveway is being expanded. She also reported that she needs help with the float. The theme should be changed this year. Sam Boak suggested that something be done with Polio plus campaign. EVERYONE should help with the parade float. It's a fun project and one that even your kids can enjoy. Lisa will give details on time, etc. at next meeting. Time is running short. Contact Lisa if you have an idea for a theme.
RELAY FOR LIFE: held June 2 and 3rd. $70,000 brought in from Austintown. Lisa had no help in putting up the tent. Jack and Mike did come out and stayed with her a while, but due to the weather, our club did not show any support.

Students learned a lot about themselves and others. It took them out of their "comfort zone" and put them into a totally different situation. He stated that he was honored to be chosen to attend and be a part of this great program.
DR. MIKE CAFARO announced the Health'o'rama at Austin Manor this Thursday at 4 P.M.
District Governor, Geoffrey Goll presented our club with the 2006-07 Significant Achievement Award for the outstanding work done on the Wickliffe Flood Project. This recognized outstanding Rotary club projects that address the needs of the local community and has been given to us from Rotary International. Our project "represents the very best work in our district and the Rotary world". CONGRATULATIONS AUSTINTOWN ROTARY!!!!
DG Goll also stated that 40,000 books have been collected from our district and are going to Mississippi and some to an Indian Reservation. It will continue to be an ongoing project.
DR. MIKE CAFARO, won the little raffle - lost the biggie.
PROGRAM: Carolyn Senedak from Friends of Wedgewood Park was our Guest Presenter. She told us about the 13 acres of parkland that used to contain two swimming pools, playgrounds, volleyball courts, bike paths, nature trails, etc. but was left in deteriorating condition and 7 years ago was purchased by the township for back taxes. The township could not afford to keep it up either and the area soon had problems with vandals. Three years ago four families got together to do something about it. They have been raising funds and working hard ever since to shape the park into the one it used to be. Home Depot is helping with the posts for a new play area, and Carolyn is asking for community support to help erect the equipment. This will be done the last weekend in July. They also are asking for donations for an aluminum "community tree" which will contain sponsor's names. The leaves are $20, the bark section is $60 and roots are $100. Nice to see a community banding together to solve their own problems. This group deserves a lot of credit for the work they're doing. Thanks to Carolyn for a great program.
