Austintown's newest Rotary Member, Cecilia Ragozzino, gave us an impromptu presentation on career in banking including her present position with Huntington National Bank as a Business Banker.
JULY 19:President Susan Leetch opened her first meeting and called on Gary Reel to lead us in prayer, followed by Pledge of Allegiance, God Bless America.
Visitor: was Linda Bevilaqua from Boardman. She and Gary went to school together.
SONGLEADER: Deanna led singing of "It's A Small World" in honor of the Lowellville Festival.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:* August 9: District Governor, Jim Russell will pay a visit to our club. He would like to meet withthe board after the regular meeting. Mark it down - we want a good crowd.
* Warren Rotary is having a POP (Pedal Out Polio) event on July 31.
* Dave Buttar mentioned the D&E Clinic Sausage Eating Contest as part of Italian Fest in Youngstown on July 31. He won last year. Our club will sponsor an entry if you would like to participate.
CHUCK'S ROTARY MINUTE was preceded by a story of a couple of buffaloes in his yard...country living at its best. He then commented on new International Governor Ray Klingensmith's motto for the year - "Building communities and Bridging Continents".
BRUCE LARAWAY mentioned Ashtabula Rotary sponsoring a Walleye and Wine event soon.
FELLOWSHIP: featured our new member, Cecilia Ragozzino. She fined anyone who hadn't attended a festival last weekend...got quite a buck$$.
RAFFLE: Ram won the little on but not the biggie.
PROGRAM: Cecilia spoke (impromptu) and on short notice in place of a planned speaker about her job as a Business Banker with Huntington. She has been in business for 13 years. She started as a teller, then branch manager with another firm. She was recruited by Huntington to specialize in business, they want to get lots of small businesses as customers, have money to lend. Nice job on short notice......
