Our speaker today was our own Presient Elect, Brian Laraway, fresh back from the PETS (President Elect Training Session) in Columbus, with all other new Presidents attending.  Brian will stress Paul Harris memberships for all of us this coming year and also do a secret poll about our likes and dislikes, so he can do a great job for us.  Brian thanked the members for being such a great group, unlike many he heard about at the meeting. He also was thankful for all the donationa and contributions for the families at Wright Patterson Air Force base.  He was gratified to be able to add our large contribution to the massive donation from Ohio Rotary.  Good job, Brian.

Michael Cafaro called the meeting to order, with prayer, pledge and God Bless America by Rev. Karl Rein.

Ron Carroll introduced his guest, Michael Sciortino, Mahoning Co. Auditor, who is a prospective member, Fitch alumni.

Song leader David Buttar led us in Viva La Rotary.

President Cafaro thanked the club as a group for all their efforts in pulling off a successful Reverse Raffle with special thanks to Frank Santisi for his strawberries, shrimp and table dancing, and also to Melissa (and Harvey) Crowley for the successful Chinese auction.  She said a formal thank you would be available for donors.

Next Monday, March 23, will be Mentoring Day with 17 Interact students joining business leaders to explore their careers, and all joining us for lunch at noon.  Frank expressed joy in finally having someone to mentor.

March 25 will be Board meeting at Lucianno's at 7:30 a.m.

March 30 we will meet at Quaker Steak and Lube for a club assembly especially devoted to planning a Bike Night fund raiser for Polio Plus.  Rotary is going to raise $200 million over the next three years to join with a pledge of $350 million from the Bill Gates Foundation to finish the polio erradication worldwide.  As a note, Bill Gates has become an honorary member of the Seattle Rotary Club.  When asked why he wasn't ever a member, his reply -- Nobody ever asked me!    Think about it, members.

Group Study Exchange dinner will be April 2 at Avion on Water (Western Reserve Road) with group from Sweden as our guests.

District Assembly will be April 17-19 at McKinley Grand Hotel in Canton.  Mike and Brian encouraged folks to attend to learn more about Rotary. We will be entering the Public Relations contest.

Roadside Cleanup will be April 25 on Kirk Road, possibly with a picnic to follow.

Gary had fellowship-fining anyone who won big at the Reverse Raffle and anyone who was glad we had a week off last week to rest up.  As nobody bit on the second one, I guess we should have had a meeting.
