On June 26, 2010 Brian Laraway was roasted at the Austintown Rotary Annual President's Party. We heard a lot of stories about Brian that we hadn't know previously! It was a lot of fun and a great time was had by all! We want to Thank Brian for a wonderful year as our President and know that he will continue to do great things with our Rotary Club!
President Brian opened his last meeting and called on Karl Rein to lead us in prayer, followed by Pledge of Allegiance, God Bless America.
Visitors were special today for Brian. Shanna and Quinn Laraway were there for Brian's last meeting as President.
SONGLEADER: Mark Cole led us in singing "In the Good Ole' Sumertime".
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
* T-Shirts (blue) are available for anyone wishing them for the July 4th parade.
* Hillary anounced a blood drive at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 2305 S. Canfield-Niles Road, July 6 from 2 to 7 PM.
* July 4th Parade: We have the wheel, flatbed and truck and now need decorations and candy.
All Rotarians are asked to wear their blue shirts. If you need one check with Brian. They have them in stock. We will meet Friday, July 2 at 6 PM at Toby Mirto's Rhiel Building. Sign up sheets being passed around
* The Raccoon Road sign clean-up was done by Brian and Shanna Laraway on the 26th of June WELL DONE!!!
* Mike Cafaro gave a wrap-up of President's Party, everyone had a great time. Thanks again to Santisi's for the great cake save!
* Brian thanked the club for their efforts this past year, ran down the Club Activity Report and mentioned several of our good works: Woodside reads, Dictionary project, Donation to library for summer reading program, 3 scholarships this year, donations to Polio Plus and Foundation, etc, etc.
* Robin Stock named Paul Harris Benefactor!
* JULY 4th WE MEET AT BIG LOT's PARKING LOT AT 11:45 with smiles and blue shirts to help line up cars for the parade, then off to ST. ANNE CHURCH at 1 PM (use Kirk Road Entrance) for our Rotary Float. Our number is 55
* July 5th: No meeting
* Susan Leetch, our incoming President's first official meeting will be July 12 and a team of 12 Russian doctors will be coming in that we have a part in sponsoring.
* July 6 - a Welcome Dinner at Poland Inner Circle for the Russian Team.
* July 10 - a trip to Niagara Falls for the doctors* July 16 Farewell dinner at the Youngstown Club.
* August 9: District Governor's Visit to our club.
CHUCK BAKER gave a Rotary minute on Dental Health and gave some interesting facts.
BRUCE LARAWAY-International: Rotary has given $900 million toward efforts to eradicate Polio from our planet.
FELLOWSHIP: Robin did Fellowship fining us for not attending Pres. Party and not helping Brian and Shanna on sign clean -up
RAFFLE: Vince won the small pot, not the big one though.
