Rich Mauer and Wayne Elliott from the Saxon Club were our guest presenters. They are having a Membership Drive right now and gave us some of the highlights of what to experience as a member.

They have new menus monthly with many activities such as bocce, parties, golf leagues, dinners, picnics in the pavilion.

Applications are now available. As a social member, discounts are available on rental of the pavilion and ballroom for your family events.

The social membership fee is only $25.00 with a $10.00 initiation fee. Thereafter dues is $50.00 per year.

On July 11, 2007, The Rotary Club of Austintown welcomed new member, Millie Baldwin into the club, by presenting her with her club pin, certificate of admission and a copy of the 4-way test of Rotary which is:

1. Is it the Truth?2. Is it Fair to all concerned?3. Will it build good will and better friendships?4. Will it be beneficial to all concerned?

Millie started the company Delta Telecom a year ago with her office located at 17 E. McKinley Way. They offer a better cheaper telephone service that is all encompassing.

PRESIDENT GARY opened the meeting with the Pledge and singing of God Bless America.

IVAN MUSGROVE gave the Invocation.

VISITORS included Jode Harmon, Boardman, Tom Keller Canfield, and Kristina Vecchione, Poland and Millie Baldwin from Delta Telecom soon to become an Austintown Rotarian.

SONGLEADER: Kelly Banfield first tried leading us in "Is it The Truth?" What a brave Rotarian!!! Kelly, new to the club, didn't really realize how badly we sing. No one knew the song!! We reverted to "Smile" and really didn't do much better. It's a good thing to be able to laugh at oneself.

A big "WELCOME BACK" to Brian Frederick home from his 100 mile "America's Most Beautiful Bike Ride" in Lake Tahoe. They raised $9,700.00 for charity. Our club made a donation.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Lisa reported that there will be no fireworks this year in Austintown due to the renovations going on at the school. There are no bleachers and the driveway is being expanded.

She also reported that she is meeting with people from Canfield Rotary to see what their ideas for the float are.

PRESIDENT'S PARTY June 23rd at 6 P.M. List is being passed around. It will be downstairs at the Upstairs. Please come so we can all "roast" President Gary Reel.

CELEBRATION GROVE: Tony Cebriak reported that Phase II is underway. The patio is started and a Historical Marker has been ordered which will recognize donors and Rotary and the people of Austintown. The celebration is planned for the first Saturday in August. Refreshments will be served afterwards.Invitations will be sent out.

FLOWER PLANTING Kelly led the team planting flowers at the Rotary sign on Mahoning Avenue. Good work Kelly. It looks great!!!

INDUCTION of MILLIE BALDWINPast District Governor, and recent author of SNUG HARBOR, Bill Johnson did the honors of inducting Millie Baldwin into the club as sponsors Dr. Mike Cafaro and Kelly Banfield, with Pres Gary Reel helping to officiate.

Millie started her company Delta Telecom and is located in Poland, Ohio. PDG Johnson stressed the importance of the Fellowship part of Rotary as well as the four way test.WELCOME MILLIE TO A GREAT CLUB!!!

FELLOWSHIP: Dr. Mike Cafaro fined everyone who did not help with planting of the flowers.

RAFFLE: With $1.2 million remaining in the jackpot, Ram won the little one, but the Queen failed to surface.
