PROGRAM: From Austintown Relay for Life, Francesca Kostek, Income Development Coordinator was our speaker. This year will mark the 10th anniversary for the Relay at Fitch. It will last from Friday at 6 p.m. to Saturday at 6 p.m. The Survivor Lap is the first on the agenda followed by the survivor dinner. Luminaries will line the track and names are read to remember those who have been lost to cancer and encourage those fighting the disease.
The meeting was called to order by President Michael Cafaro, invocation and pledge by Gary Reel.
SONG LEADER: Hillary Prestridgeled us in singing "My Country 'Tis of Thee". Well done!
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
- June 14 - Our Next Car Cruise.
- T-Shirts are in. Don't forget yours. You will need for the July 4th parade.
- June 8 - Our meeting is at the Austintown Library.
- President's Roast Saturday June 27, 6 p.m. cocktails 7 p.m. dinner then the creamation of President Mike. This year at MoJo's on Mahoning Avenue.
- Rotary Foundation: last push of the year for grants, scholarship money and Polio Plus fund requests.
- July 4: Joint effort for the Parade. Chris Lewis asked for our help along with Kiwanis, Lyons and the Optimist Clubs. 12:00 noon.
- Due to our commitments with the Austintown Parade, we won't be able to help Canfield with extra volunteers. They need more help due to traffic problems experienced last year. Our board to discuss whether we will do our own float or use the one from Canfield.
- Reverse Raffle meeting will be held soon - this is a planning to discuss advantages of Embassy or Maronite Center. All ideas are welcome.
FELLOWSHIP: Chuck baker warned everyone that he will be doing Fellowship. Make sure you wear both your pin and badge....or else. In the meantime, he fined all the women who sat together instead of sharing their wisdom and conversation with the men.
RAFFLE:Pink deck time again. Tony Cebriak won the little one - but lost the big, pink Queen.
The funds all go to research and programs with 60% staying in Ohio and 40% to National. Nothing is waster. This year's goal is $60,000. If you wish to make a donation, please contact David Buttar.
